According to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, a female jogger was assaulted on the Copeland Creek path near Country Club Drive at 12:07 p.m. on Monday, Aug 25. The male came up from behind her and put his arm around her neck in a hold.

She fought him off and he ran away towards Seed Farm Drive. According to the report he did not say anything to the victim.

The suspect is a white male around 19 years old. He stands approximately 5-11 with a thin build, brown hair and was clean shaven. The suspect was wearing a black “Russian style” hat with ear coverings in fur, white t-shirt and black sweat pants.

If anyone has information regarding this incident please call Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at 584-2600.

This marks the third incident of violence on the creek paths this year. In April late night gunshots were reported near Rancho Cotate High School and the Copeland Creek path and there was also a stabbing on the trail between Commerce Boulevard and Seed Farm Drive.
