A free concert for the community
Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez with the Santa Rosa Symphony will entertain the public for free at Weill Hall on Thursday, July 31. As a “thank you” to the community along with acting as a kick-off to the annual conference for the Association of California Symphony Orchestras, the Santa Rosa Symphony is presenting this free picnic.
For the event the gates open at 5 p.m. for picnicking and the Weill Hall lobby will open at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. performance.
Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez has collaborated with Willie Nelson, the Beach Boys, Jose Feliciano, Vincente Fernandez and Selena along with performing at the Latin Grammy Awards. Michael Berkowitz will conduct the orchestra and the program will be announced from the stage.
Admission for the concert is free, however all guests must have a ticket to enter the venue. Tickets can be reserved through the Symphony Patron Services Offices at 546-8742 or through a voice mailbox system with service in Spanish at 546-7007. Seating options include terrace tables or open seating on the lawn.
Food may be brought in but no outside beverages are permitted. Water bottle filling stations are available and food and beverages can be purchases on site. Low lawn chairs and blankets are permitted on the lawn.
Weill Hall is within the Green Music Center on the Sonoma State University Campus located at 1801 East Cotati Avenue.
