Just in time to keep New Year’s resolutions for fitness going is the Biggest Loser Foxtail Edition. From Monday, Feb. 4 to Monday, May 6 competitors will face off in a winner take all competition to see who can drop the most weight. The buy-in is $50 per person and there will be weekly weigh-ins along with prizes and fun. The last day to join is Monday, Feb. 25. SMBC is back this month with another Entrepreneurs’ Happy Hour. This unique event will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Bay iHub at SMBC. This is an opportunity to socialize and network with the current community, community leaders, and members of the Advisory Board. This is a free event. Sonoma State University continues “Water Works” performance season with Island Passions: Two One-Act Operas. “The Deserted Island” and “Riders to the Sea” will be performed at the Evert B. Person Theatre on the SSU Campus with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 through Saturday, Feb. 9 along with a 5 p.m. show on Sunday, Feb. 10 with additional shows the following week. On Friday, Feb. 8 it is Bunco Time with the Rohnert Park-Cotati Rotary Club. The club will host a $25 entry Bunco Tournament at the Sally Tomatoes Event Center. Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. and the tournament starts at 7 p.m. with a grand prize of $200 being handed out. There will also be a silent auction, snacks, and a no-host bar. Sally Tomatoes is located at 1100 Valley House Drive.
“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” opens this week at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center. This musical comedy has won several Tony Awards and should be a laugh-filled show. Ticket prices are $26 general, $22 for seniors, and $20 for students. Show times are Friday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. with additional shows the following weekend. Los Gu’achis Live at the Rohnert Park – Cotati Library! On Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. kids and adults can enjoy a free concert sponsored by the Friends of the Library featuring a local Petaluma quartet, Los Gu’achis. They will perform a program of the music of early California and the Southwest. The library is located at 6250 Lynne Conde Way.
Cathryn Fairlee presents Goodbye Dragon, Hello Snake on Sunday, Feb. 10 which is Chinese tales for the New Year. This unique house concert event starts at 4 p.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. with tickets priced at $15. Reservations are required and drinks are provided.
