An introduction to Jewish life
Are you interested in Judaism? For people who are either embarking on Jewish education for the first time or those just brushing up, there is a unique opportunity starting on Wednesday, Feb. 6, here in Rohnert Park.
The Jewish Community Center of Sonoma County will offer a 13 week series of classes at the Foxtail Golf Course in the Pond Room. Classes will take place on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will begin on Feb. 6 through May 8.
The series, titled “L’Chaim:An Introduction to Jewish Life, Belief and Practice,” will cover the basics of Jewish thought, theory, text and celebration. This class is open to the public with a course fee of $100, or a $10 drop in rate. The textbook is not included in the course fees but can be purchased online and they will have a few copies on hand at the first meeting.

Instructors for the program will include Rabbi Ted Feldman of B’nai Israel Jewish Center (Petaluma), Rabbi Mendel Wolvovsky of Sonoma County Chabad, Rabbi Mordecai Miller of Congregation Beth Ami (Santa Rosa), Reb Irwin Keller of Congregation Ner Shalom (Cotati), and Rabbi George Gittleman and Rabbi Stephanie Kramer of Congregation Shomrei Torah (Santa Rosa).
