AIDS Awareness Week

Monday, November 26th, 2012 | Posted by

December 3-7 is AIDS Awareness Week at SSU:

Associated Students Productions is showing “Philadelphia,” starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Union’s Multi-Purpose Room.

There will also be a presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday by Sunburst Projects, whose Camp Sunburst offers no-cost therapeutic programming to children and teens living with HIV/AIDS in California. Throughout the week the Sunburst Quilt will be on display in the Student Union. This AIDS memorial quilt honors the memories of the children, parents and counselors who were part of the camp.

A clothing drive for Out of the Closet continues through Friday in the Student Union. The non-profit, with three stores in San Francisco, benefits the AIDS Health Care Foundation with HIV clinics as well as outreach and prevention programs. For free large item donation pickup, call 877-274-2548.

For more information about these events call 664-2382.

Thursday, November 29, is Food For Thought’s 11th Annual Dining Out For Life:
