Three fundraisers honor local children’s lives
Celebrate the life of Galilea Peña, a Rohnert Park child who lost her life in a 2010 auto accident, and help raise funds for a commemorative art sculpture in Cotati’s La Plaza Park. Sally Tomatoes will cater a BBQ rib dinner in the park at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Your $15 fee (payable to the Cotati Chamber of Commerce) supports the Cotati Arts Project. The pre-approved sculpture will “honor her and all other children lost too soon,” says Andre Morrow. Sponsored by the Chamber, Cotati Arts Project, Sally Tomatoes and Active 20/30 Club. RSVP to Andre Morrow at 333-3011 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cotati Lion Club’s Dine and Donate, all day Friday, Oct. 19, supports baby Beau Tilghman of Rohnert Park, who recently had a malignant brain tumor removed and is undergoing chemotherapy at Oakland Children’s Hospital. 25 percent of all proceeds at Mike’s at the Crossroads raise funds to help this child and his family fight for his life. Located at 7665 Old Redwood Hwy in Cotati. Call 665-9999 for more information. To learn more about Beau or to donate, visit fundly.com/baby-beau-tilghman.
The Lion’s Club will also sponsor a benefit dinner for the Tilghman family 4-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Cotati Lions/Scout Hut located at 86 La Plaza in Cotati. See the flyer below for more information:
