Man claims $13 million lottery prize

The winner of a $13 million lottery prize, who purchased his ticket in Rohnert Park almost a month ago, has claimed his prize, officials said Wednesday.
The winner, identified as Omar Estrella, went to the California State Lottery’s San Francisco office on Friday with his wife and attorney, said Alex Traverso, a lottery spokesman said.
“He just seemed like a really nice, down-to-earth guy, quiet and really nervous about having this money,” Traverso said.
Traverso decided against having a press conference or releasing any other personal details. His name is the only information that is required to be released, Traverso said.
Estrella told lottery officials that he is a regular player and bought $4 in tickets at the Kwik Pik Market in Rohnert Park on June 23. The market will receive $65,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Traverso said Estrella, who appeared to be about 40, has not decided whether to take the $13 million over 26 years or in a lump sum of $9.6 million.
