“Drug Discovery Against Neglected Tropical Diseases: A Computer Science Perspective” is the topic of discussion on Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Cerent Engineering Science Complex at Sonoma State University in Salazar Hall, room 2009A. The Engineering Science Lecture Series is sponsored by Agilent Technologies and offered free to the public. Dr. Rahul Singh from San Francisco State University is the guest speaker featured during the lecture from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. There will be a reception starting at 4 p.m., and questions will be answered following the lecture. The Rotary Club of Rohnert Park – Cotati is holding a St. Valentine’s Bunco Tournament on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Wedgewood Banquet Center at Foxtail Golf Club, 100 Golf Course Drive. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the tournament starting at 7 p.m. Entry costs $25 and there will be a $200 grand prize, in addition to raffle prizes, snacks, beverages and a no-host bar. “The Light Thief” will be presented by the Sonoma Film Institute at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, in Warren Auditorium in Ives Hall at Sonoma State University. Reflecting the economic struggles in post-Soviet Central Asia, Mr. Light tampers with meters to help his neighbors too poor to afford electricity. The Sonoma County Stray Pet Network will host its “Have a Heart” bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oliver’s Market at 546 East Cotati Ave. in Cotati on Saturday, Feb. 11.
