Registration closes on Friday for Sonoma State’s Economic Outlook Conference next Thursday at the DoubleTree.
This year’s conference, 8 a.m.-noon Feb. 23, will focus on our region’s emerging industries in a slowly recovering state economy. Rob Eyler, Director of the Center for Regional Economic Analysis will provide an up-to-the-minute economic analysis and forecast. Local leaders scheduled to join him:
Amy’s Kitchen’s Andy Berliner will discuss Amy’s evolution in the North Bay and his company’s leadership in local food manufacturing.
John Chiang, California’s State Controller, will address the California State budget and issues and opportunities for California in a major election year.
Remy Gross from the Buck Institute will cover the research facility’s expansion, why it is in Marin and the potential for biotechnology in the region.
Napa Mayor Jill Techel will talk about the partnership between city and local business leaders to develop the city’s downtown into a high-end hospitality center with global reach.
Carolyn Stark from Sonoma County BEST (Building Economic Success Together) will end the panel by putting Sonoma County’s plans for economic development in perspective.
