The Week: Baking, volunteers and Hanukkah lights
There will be a Project Graduation bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, in front of Oliver’s Market, 546 East Cotati Ave., to raise funds for the annual event that helps keep graduating high school seniors safe. The Chabad Jewish Center invites the public to attend the “Light up the Night” Hanukkah celebration being held at Oliver’s Market, 546 East Cotati Ave., in Cotati starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22. There will be a large menorah lighting, latkes (traditional potato pancakes), prizes and more activities at this free event. The Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Crab Feed on Saturday, Jan. 7. All-you-can-eat crab, pasta, salad and bread will be served at the Rohnert Park Community Center, 5401 Snyder Lane. There will be a no-host bar. Tickets cost $50, or $60 at the door. Children ages 12 and younger cost $20. Adults who are not eating crab cost $20. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 584-1415 to purchase tickets and for more information.
The Cotati Creek Critters will hold a creek stewardship day from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Cotati well lot #2 on Lakewood Ave. Park on Lakewood Ave. or in the parking lot across the road at Lady Bug Park, 8517 Liman Way. Volunteers will help enhance the areas natural habitat by planting and maintaining creek vegetation. Wear boots or sturdy shoes along with comfortable, layered clothes including long pants and sleeves. Work is carried out, rain or shine. Visit online at cotaticreekcritters.info for more information.
