SSU golf finishes 8th

But sophomore Kyle Hopkins just missed qualifying for nationals as an individual.

The Seawolves finished eighth, shooting 307-299-303-909. The team champion was Cal State Bakersfield.

Hopkins finished with an even-par 71, ending up 10th and missing a national berth by two strokes. His tournament total (75-71-71-217) was 4 over par.

Other SSU results were Chris Galvin, 77-75-73-225 (T30th); Hollis Kelley, 79-75-78-232 (38th), and Petter Lindbak, 76-78-81-235 (T35th). "We didn't play very well today," said SSU coach Val Verhunce. "The pins were in tough positions, but we just didn't finish well."
